At Sandbox, we believe that you can’t solve problems without talking to each other.

On the Sandbox app, people do exactly that. Each week, we pair people up who don’t see eye to eye on politics to have productive and structured one-on-one conversations.

There are interesting conversations happening across the political divide on the Sandbox app every day. People are expressing their beliefs, hearing new points of view, and taking each other seriously. That’s not to say its without hiccups. But those hiccups have helped us, the Sandbox Editorial Team, spot patterns – what causes certain conversations go off the rails, what explanations Sandboxers find the most tenable, and why.

So we’re writing about our findings (the good, the bad, and the ugly!) because want to show what’s possible when people take the time to have conversations with people they disagree with.
